Holliday is in NY and STL is in PHI, so I imagine they should be able to get him suited up tonight. Good news for me as he won't be starting in LF for Oakland tonight.

There's a big difference b/t batting in the middle of Pujols and Ludwick than Hairston and Cust.
Well, I guess the new Cardinal philosophy of keeping prospects just went away..
Not overly concerned about losing Mortensen, minor league numbers are average and seems to be a back-end rotation guy if anything.
Wallace of course is the key piece here, and that one could hurt. Young player who has fantastic offensive numbers that is cost controlled for years. Even if he is moved to 1B/DH (likely), the A's could have a .850-.900 OPS guy on the cheap for awhile.
I really hope the Cards make the play-offs this year, otherwise we've given away a pretty big haul (including DeRosa deal) this season...
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

at the same time, if DeRosa and Holliday don't resign, we'll be getting extra picks to replenish the farm system to keep in line with the organizational philosophy change.

Very true, but his career away from Coors Field OPS is just a bit over .800. If that is what the Cardinals are getting in this deal, then this deal does not help the Cards out nowhere near as much as some might think. If the move to the NL and Pujols in the lineup makes Holliday a 900ish+ OPS guy the rest of the year, this could be a move that pays off for St. Louis this year. But still 6 years of Wallace even with probable bad defense is alot to pay.

... You don't realize how bad the Card's LF situation was this year, do you? An .800 OPS out of LF and DeRosa at 3B is leagues better offensively than a couple weeks ago.
