Yahoo credits a CG for a rainout 5+ inning game?!

Postby Dalingh » Thu Jul 23, 2009 11:50 pm

I play in a yahoo 10 team h2h league. One of our pitching categories is Complete Game. Adam Wainwright was credited with a complete game, when in actuality he only pitched 6 innings. Yes, this was technically a "complete game" because the game was canceled due to rain after 6.1 innings. Will this be changed or am I possibly going to be screwed due to a BS flaw?

Rain shortened complete games still count as complete games.

Well that's a stupid F'n rule. (Yes, I'm bitter/upset about this).

Yeah, this has nothing to do with Yahoo.

MLB rule. You might be on the right side of this rule some day. It all evens out in the wash.

good luck

I just probably wouldn't play in a league that scores something like complete games.

We give them the same weight as a save, since a CG is theoretically like a save at the end.

However, there are a lot of loopholes to that situation, as this thread shows. I mean, sometimes you don't even get a W from a CG.

Well in a points league I don't really have a problem with CG's or other little quirky stats as much, just that in a regular H2H league they are so few and far between that it just isn't a good idea to score. I guess I assumed the OP was talking about a regular H2H league, but maybe he is playing points. If so, I say you have 3 more days to catch up. ;-D

Moral of the story, don't play in leagues with stupid categories. At least not for money.
