I am in a 10 team keeper league and need a first baseman. Which one of these two guys is more valuable and why? Please help as I am desperate.
Thanks

Do you think that B.J. Upton and Felix Hernandez is too much to give up for him?
Thanks

Whichever one you can get. And if you can get both, target whichever one will cost you the least.
They are both great. Don't get hung up on the details. Start talking the the owners of both and figure out which one you actually have a chance of getting.....and/or which one you can get for the lower price.
The first thing you should do is look at the teams both of these guys are currently on and identify who the backup 1B is on those teams. That information alone will probably go a long way to answering your question.
If your team drafted today, Cabrera would be taken before Teixeira, but not by much.

IMO the difference in draft positions would be similar to what it was this season. 5-7 picks different.
Pretty decent gap.
