You would imagine they will get more in return for Wilson and Sanchez. I was surprised that LaRoche did not garner a higher level prospect (or at least one with a higher ceiling). Seems like a potential 4-5th starter and a backup utility IF for a productive second half hitter. Not bad but couldnt the Giants have entered the bidding?

They probably thought they couldn't get much in return for LaRoche, which I would agree with.

Guess the Giants didn't want to do Jonathan Sanchez for LaRoche.

Do Pitt fans really boo LaRoche every time he comes up to bat?

I haven't been watching their games lately but my friend just texted me saying "this trade will make a lot of Pirates fans happy" so that paints a pretty good picture. This is better than McLouth or Morgan being traded, and Wilson or Sanchez (unless they get really really good pieces back).

This is a good trade for the Sox.

As a sox fan I like it for them
Don't think it will do much for his fantasy value unless he has his usual hot 2nd half and someone misses some time
LOL - following the Pit-Mil game on mlb.tv and they said the dugout just got the official word
Im sure deal couldahve fallen apart before it was 100% official but come on they all must have heard and he wasnt playing and all
Some of those guys have to be pulling a twitter in the dugout right?

LaRoche was in a $7M contract.
They were saving moolah and that's all.
Yeah they got something for nothing pretty much considering how much LaRoche was sucking.
