Trade E. Jackson for Adam Jones? WHIR!!!

Postby woowoo crew » Tue Jul 21, 2009 8:28 pm

I've been offered a trade: my Edwin Jackson for his Adam Jones. I really like Jackson; he's the real deal. I've been wanting a better CF, however, my pitching has been a big part of my 2nd place position and only 1 game out of first. Adam Jones has really cooled off lately, which worries me down the stretch. ****I was thinking of dropping Chris Davis to pick up Franklin Gutierrez, but he just got injured, so I don't know how serious that is. If I get Gutierrez, I won't need Adam Jones. Scott Hairston is also available.

12 team, H2H, no keeper league. Check out my team please and let me know what you think I should do.
FYI, the guy offering the trade is in 1st place.

I like this for you. Your staff is strong enough to cover the loss of Jackson.
I think Jones is the real deal, but the "fluid on the knees" does worry me a bit.
That being said, I'd still pull the trigger on this since you have the pitching depth.

Jones is far more valuable to your team than E. Jackson given your pitching depth. Pull the trigger without concern.

Take the deal. Just as the other posters mentioned, you can afford to part with Jackson and Jones is a great option to have. He'll be much better then Gutierrez.

I agree with the others. I would take that deal. I have to think Jones will get hot again.

I was actually kinda leaning towards saying no, but after looking at your staff.. yeah, you can part with Jackson. Though, I would still look at dropping Davis. Non-keeper league, no real reason to keep hanging on to him.

Thanks for the help with mine. Given your depth at SP and weakness in the OF, I'd definitely take this trade.

Upton, but because of CF eligibility, then Jones.
