Keeper Consolidation/Halladay trades

Postby Bferryvt » Tue Jul 21, 2009 2:43 pm

I'm in a 12-team 6x6 H2H, and have managed to get my keepers in pretty good shape. We each can keep 6, and currently I've got Hanley, Teixeira, Longoria, Howard, Sabathia, and then either Lester, Adam Jones, Brad Hawpe, or Alexei Ramirez. I'd like to consolidate some of those last four into a stronger keeper, and was offered Roy Halladay for Hawpe/Jones. Should I do that? My outfield would be decimated, leaving Rasmus/Willingham/Parra, so I would have to do some quick intelligent rebuilding if I made that move. Any thoughts?

You have plenty of options for your 6th keeper right now. I would pass on the consolidation deal and continue to work on leading your division and winning this year. Between Jones, Hawpe, Lester, Webb, and Ramirez, you have plenty of options for your last keeper and you should be able to make a move later on to consolidate if you really feel the need to.

i agree with the previous poster, why would you change up something that obviously is working great right now? Worry about winning it all this year as you sound like your in a pretty good state to do so right now, BUT just for sh*ts and giggles whats left on your WW for OFers? Cuz i don't think that Hawpe would at all be a good 6th keeper to add to your list, and your talking about getting if not the best, then the 2nd best pitcher in the game right now... as i look at it you could move those 2 OFers, hope he would throw in a OFer in return, move Sexy Alexei to the OF and Stewart to 2B, your OF would then sport Rasmus, Alexei and whatever you could either pick from the WW or hope he would send in return, then looking at your SP corps, Comboing CC and Lester with Halladay would be GOLDEN... but i would want to see whats on your WW before you make a move if any, oh and personally try to deal Wieters, you said its a keeper maybe try to find someone that is still hyping this kid and deal him as he has really ZERO value to you, as hes not going to produce this year to the extent to take over for McCann and your obviously not going to keep him, so shop him and award him to the highest bidder...

Thanks guys, unfortunately Alexei isn't OF eligible. WW doesn't hold much, this league is pretty thorough. There ARE Ankiels, Teahan's, Seth Smith is interesting. I can move Bedard for an OF if I needed to. My other question, he has Halladay and he has Haren...not sure which I really want in a keeper, almost leaning toward Haren. Still hesitant on making a move...
