Sandoval/Verlander for Wright

Postby mozart24 » Tue Jul 21, 2009 2:18 pm

9-team, non-keeper, standard 5 X 5 roto. I've got a pending deal bringing Dunn and Tejada for Brian Roberts and Nyjer Morgan. I gained a lot of power, but lost some runs and steals. Well, now I can get runs/steals back, since I've just been offered Wright for Sandoval/Verlander. I'm first in all the pitching cats, and lead in K,ERA, and WHIP by large margins. I can find spot starters the rest of the season, since I'm ahead of the innings limit.

Any reason I shouldn't do this? I'll return help.

Roster:

9-Team, Non-Keeper Standard 5x5 Roto

C Posada
1B Berkman
2B Roberts
3B Sandoval
SS Tulowitzki
2B/SS Uggla
1B/3B Helton
OF Braun
OF Dye
OF Victorino
UTIL Cruz
Bench N. Morgan
Bench M. Lowell
DL Beltran

SP Beckett, Verlander, Vasquez, Oswalt, Wandy
RP Broxton, Nathan, Street, Downs, Bailey (4 RP slots, Bailey goes in one of 5 SP slots)

Thanks for the help.

Honestly? I might not trade Sandoval for Wright straight up. Wright has become more of a gap hitter, and his SB opps are going to do down the less this team hits. Wright is all alone in that lineup, and I'd stay away.

Wright hasn't been wooing too many people...you may be able to get him for less than a Verlander. He's got no one in his lineup hitting around him, that's going to hurt him for the next month at least....

With the way Wright has been playing and since it's a non keeper league I might not trade either one of theese guys straight up for him.

The guy above me stole my answer.

I have both Sandoval and Wright on the same team and am getting better offers for Sandoval than Wright, and I would not rate Verlander any lower than Wright at this point. It is doubtful I would trade either one for Wright straight up, but no way would I consider both.

Thanks for help on mine.

Wow...glad I didn't accept. My first instinct was that this is a no-brainer; thank goodness for the cafe!

So...chime in if you think I should do Sandoval for Wright straight up. A couple of you have already said no. Leave your links.
