Looking to trade Halladay in a keeper league

Postby Shaffe » Mon Jul 20, 2009 8:44 pm

So I've got a lot of guys who are borderline keepers and we keep 10. I've decided I'm going to trade some of my chips to upgrade my 10 keepers and Halladay is the biggest chip I'm going to move. I tried to trade him for Greinke straight up last month, but that isn't going to happen. So I've got a couple of deals on the table right now and I want to make sure they're a)good for me and b)which one is the better one.

Trade A:
Halladay for Ryan Braun

Trade B:
Halladay and Kendry Morales for Joe Mauer and Adam Dunn

Here's my roster:
C - Victor
1B - Ortiz
2B - Kennedy
3B - Rolen
SS - Gordon Beckham
OF - Crawford
OF - Choo
OF - Morales
Util - Butler
Util - Rowand
Bench - Callaspo, Hardy, Gordon, Conor Jackson(DL), Maybin, Milledge

SP - Halladay, Felix, Edwin Jackson, Garza, Scherzer, Doug Davis, Kazmir, Maine(DL)
RP - Nathan, Soria, Cordero

My no-brainer keepers right now are Victor, Crawford, Halladay, Felix, and probably Nathan. From there I'm not sure how the rest will shake out, but I've got way too many borderline guys right now and my offense is struggling bad and I feel like I need to make a move for my future.

Personally I would jump all over Braun if you can really get that

yeah I agree take Braun and run he is a great top of the line keeper. The only pitcher on his level is probably Lincecum

Is Halladay/Morales for Mauer/Dunn a good deal for me too, in case the Braun one doesn't happen? I know it would leave me with two stud catchers, but it would also give me some flexibility to either flip one or hope one of them sticks at catcher for their entire career (rumors abound for both).
