David Wright or Alex Rodriguez? *WHIR*

Postby Daulton » Mon Jul 20, 2009 7:32 pm

Hey Gang,

So I one of my leagues is a 10 team mixed Yahoo league.

One of the managers sent me a trade, my David Wright for his Alex Rodriguez. I am leaning towards making the deal, mainly because of the Mets injuries and I am not sure how Wright is going to fare the rest of the way.

Do I pull the trigger on this and get A-Rod?

Here's my roster:

C - Russel Martin
1B - Mark Teixeira
2B - Dan Uggla
3B - David Wright
SS - Jimmy Rollins
OF - Matt Holliday
OF - Grady Sizemore
OF - Curtis Granderson
Util - Adam Lind
Bench - Juan Rivera
Bench - Matt Wieters
Bench - Kendry Morales

SP - Scott Baker
SP - Dan Haren
SP - Yovani Gallardo
SP - J.A. Happ
SP - John Smoltz
SP - Chris Carpenter
SP - Wandy Rodriguez
RP - Jonathan Broxon
RP - Jose Valverde

Leave a link, and I will help you out as well with my 2 cents ;-D

It partly depends on whether you need Wright's SBs. I personally wouldn't do this deal, because I think that wright will hit for a little bit more power in the 2nd half, and I think AROD is on the decline.

help me please

Take ARod and run, he's bound for a big 2nd half IMO and all of his surrounding factors (lineup, park) give him the edge over Wright.

I wouldn't, A-Rod will bring your team average down, and I think homer wise both will be pretty close, Wright provides stellar average and stolen bases and A-Rod I think is slightly declining

help with mine?

Hahahahaha.....Yep.....You have to take AROD all day everyday on this one!

All these Morons that state AROD is on the decline must be on the crack pipe or must really suck at Fantasy sports cause given a guy who Homers just about everyday and hits like nobody's business is considered declining then I'll take the decline all day long baby!!!

AROD is a beast and hitting better and better everyday since returning and Wright is great for AVG/SB but the power isn't there this year and I'm afraid to say that it probably won't be there the 2nd half either.

Plus....AROD (better team, better park, better supporting cast, etc....)

Take AROD to the bank!

I totally agree with Whippersnappers. You have to take this deal and run with it. ARod looks better and better every day and is going to have a huge second half. You have to do this. Wright is very overrated in my opinion.

please help
