I think Nirvana was one of the greatest bands ever.

Signed,

Someone named after their first album :-)

When Nirvana came out, I hated them on principle. Now that I'm a little older and a lot smarter, I can admit that they made some decent music. However, they're still one of the most overrated bands ever. Their "greatness" is suspect, and largely attributed to them because of Cobain's death. Actually, as in most cases of the untimely death of a musician, that was probably the best thing that could have happened to the band, at least as far as their legacy is concerned.

That's a little bit of revisionist history. Nirvana was considered one of the seminal bands of the generation well before Cobain died. It's pretty hard to consider them over-rated when almost 20 years after Nevermind they are still one of the most influential bands for how mainstream rock sounds.

As for Sublime, I don't think nearly as many people put them on that same level as Nirvana. I will say even now after my stoner days are well behind me, 40oz is maybe one of the most under appreciated releases of the 90s.
