Dropping Wieters for Beckham

Postby Padres Fan » Mon Jul 20, 2009 10:55 am

I am in a 8 team H2H Yahoo custom league it's a 8x8 scoring format that scores Runs,Hits,2B,3B,HR,RBI,SB,AVG-W,IP(37 inn min),CG,SHO,SV,K,ERA,WHIP, PICKOFFS

C-Pablo Sandoval (c,1b,3b)
1B-Joey Votto (1b)
2B-Brandon Phillips (2b)
3B-David Wright (3b)
SS-Michael Young (3b,ss)
IF-Gordon Beckham (3b,ss)
OF-Jayson Werth (of)
OF-Matt Kemp (of)
OF-Curtis Granderson (of)
UTIL-Russ Martin (c,3b)
UTIL-Ryan Ludwick (of)
UTIL-Adam Dunn (1b,of)
BN-Mark Reynolds (1b,3b)
BN-Stephen Drew (ss)
BN-Carlos Pena (1b)
DL-carlos Quentin (of)

SP-Roy Halladay
SP-Ricky Romero
SP-John Lackey
RP-Joe Nathan
RP-Joakim Soria
P-Matt Cain
P-Roy Oswalt
P-Johan Santana
P-Andrew Bailey
BN-Gavin Floyd
DL-Kevin Slowey

I am havig issues with my mid infielders, and with Sandoval hitting hot at C was this a good drop. I have been in 1st place since week 3 but as you can see it's a very high maintenance team, also when Quentin gets off the DL, is Pena a good drop or should I try and trade both Pena and Dunn for a 2b/ss like Zobrist or Felipe Lopez or go after Ian Stewart or Martin Prado who are on waivers.

Keeper league, stay with Wieters.

One and done, go with Beckham. Sandoval is a solid option at C

As long as this is not a keeper league, Wieters is fine to drop for Beckham.

i think im going to have to say stick with Pena. hes more valuable than Stewart or Prado. i hanvt followed Stewart, but he doesnt even play all the time does he? Prado is someone who can hit, but i dont see alot of value in him to help in other categories.
i would try and trade first.
the first person i would try and trade is Martin. IMO hes overrated. after that with the players you have on the bench/UTIL you should be able to trade someone for an upgrade at IF.
