Holliday for either Loney, Berkman, or Votto

Postby The Real Quiz » Sun Jul 19, 2009 3:07 pm

An owner in my 10-team, H2H 6x6 non-keeper league offered me Loney for Holliday.
He also owns Berkman and Votto, and i'm sure I could counter for any one of his 3 1B's.

Do I do it? I'm definitely not hurting too bad in the OF spot, and I'd love to fill the cold 1B that V.Mart is occupying (at least until he heats back up).
I'm thinking Loney might be my best bet, but Berkman is Berkman, and Votto is enticing. What say thee?
WHIR, of course.

Here's my offense:

C Wieters
1B V. Martinez
2B Uggla
3B Huff
SS Rollins
IF Encarnacion
OF Sizemore
OF Dunn
OF Ludwick
OF Choo
UT Holliday
BENCH Garret Jones
DL Soto

Thanks for the reply!.....Ummmmmm.......but are you serious here?

I wouldn't give up Halladay for any of those guys.....well, if your deep in at SP and you need the position fill then I would go with Berkman and then Votto (in that order) but I definately would not trade for Loney who is the worse one of the bunch.....heck, I wouldn't take Loney for free!

This question must be a joke so I'll move on but if you must trade then I would trade for Berkman only and/or Votto plus Loney but that's it my friend!

I would like to see your SP's though to see what warrants trading Halladay? Also, I would sit Weiters, move VicMart to C and then either do the trade for Berkman or Votto+ and put them at 1B or don't do the trade and at least put G.Jones at 1B.

Good Luck!

Thanks for attempting to answer the question, I guess. But I obviously was referring to "Holliday" (as in "Matt Holliday") and not Halladay. I could understand the misunderstanding if it was misheard, but not misread.

Cool, I was mainly on the fence about Votto. It's good to see that taking the risk wouldn't be a horrible thing.

Thanks guys!

I would get Berkman if you can still get him.
