I just got in from a amusement park and I am very tired. I could have swore the title said "Another Icon Game" thinking it was a new game here at the cafe.
But i didn't know w.c. had passed away. sad to see him go.

Maybe if he had a drug problem, shot someone, robbed a bank, commited fraud, or maybe if he was at least a felon he could have gotten more coverage. But who cares about a stand up citizen and a model human being?

Also, how embarrassing would it be to modern news outlets to provide examples of Cronkite's work in a eulogy? All it would do would be to highlight the vacuousness of today's news.
My opinion - they gave short shrift to the lives of Paul Harvey and Walter Cronkite out of embarrassment over letting the art form these two helped create degenerate into soundbites and salon gossip.
I think it has less to do with that, and more to do with the fact that a 92-year-old dying isn't exactly "news." His death has been expected for some time. Plus he died at the absolute worst time in the news cycle if you're looking for a lot of coverage.

Also being 92 most of the people of his generation who knew him well are already gone. I mean I'm 33 and can say I knew who he was but it's not like I grew up watching him on the tube. There should have been more coverage but I'm not really surprised there wasn't.
