I was looking at all the SLEEPER picks written about since the off season and thought that RDD15 deserved props for calling out Justin Upton on February 2nd. This kid (Upton) has blown away the sleeper status and become a star.
No other sleeper pick excites me except for two Rox that currently are still borderline valuable. I am a huge Ian Stewart fan but the BA have him on the bench where he still simmers as a sleeper. Also, Ubaldo Jimenez is putting up some nice number but at 6-9 there isn't anything of excitiement there until he puts a run together. I'll admit that he is getting poor run support.
Other sleepers are just recently added, like Prado and Morgan, and haven't been rated yet.
So props to RDD15 on the Upton pick. RDD15 also picked Stewart as a sleeper on January 19th.
(If I have a sleeper and write about him where do I send my piece?)
EDIT: daullaz posted Ryan Madson on June 9th and since then he has been bad (compared to pre-June 9 standards)...4.15 ERA, 13 ks, 7 bbs, 2 saves and only 2 holds.
My Friendliness bar...recently shrunk from 11.3 to 10mm long!!

I do believe that hours after I posted the Madson piece, Lidge was DLed and Madson was thrust in the closer role. His performance was bad, but it was nice to see his value shoot up so soon after I wrote it.
If you want to write some sleeper pieces (and we would love to have you), I need you to visit the Pencil and Paper forum and check out the Becoming a Writer thread.
Sleepers this year were Choo, Lind, and Adam Jones.

Hard to call Upton a sleeper given what he did last year. I'm sticking by my suggestion from a month ago, sell high if you can. Upton had a great hot streak but he is going to have cold streaks as well because he just swings at too many bad pitches and swings for the fences too much. His final season stats won't just be double what he did after 81 games imo.
