Sizemore for Greinke

Postby razeone » Fri Jul 17, 2009 5:03 am

Standard 5 x 5 league. Rotisserie.

C - Martin
1B- D. Ortiz
2B- Phillips
SS- S. Drew
3B- R. Zimmerman
IF- T.Helton
OF- Justin Upton
OF- Soriano
OF -B.J. Upton
Util -Sizemore
BN - Clint Barmes
BN - H. Matsui
BN - Billy Buttler
BN - Scott Podesdnik

I am way behind in innings, over a 100 under the innings max., but have a solid core to my staff with Harang, Verlander, Jeff Weaver, Zombrano. Aside from these starters I have Volquez on the DL and Marcum on the DL. I have been spot starting which has been gong ok. I am doing fine in pitching but these categories are very close and just by catching up in innings I stand to make up a lot of ground in these categories.

I have a very deep OF. Soriano, B.J. Upton, Justin Upton and Sizemore. Obviously I have been benching Soriano for most of the last month. I am holding my own in runs and SB but not doing so well in HR RBI and Avg. I think my hitting can rebound as most of these guys slumped big in the first half.

I have been offered Greinke straight up for Sizemore. Greinke has done very well this season but his last few starts and career trends coupled with the fact that he plays for a terrible team makes me hesitant. But I also think the Indians could shut down Sizemore considering they have no chance at making the playoffs. So I am leaning towards getting some value for him.

Do you think this is a wise move? I could just stick with the spot start approach. Or maybe I should deal Zimmerman and play Barmes who has been looking very good.

Any help is appreciated.

i think this deal makes sense for you. sizemore isn't 100% and greinke is probably on the high end of players you should target.

help me out please

I take the deal. The health worries for Size, the need to quality innings, and the fact that this is your UTIL player say go for it for me.

It's selling low, but you're right to worry about Sizemore.

B4 you take it as offered, see if he'll pitch in a decent OF your way, too: I want nothing to do with Matsui this year.

I would do this deal. Greinke has proven himself to be one of the top pitchers in baseball this year.
