MCab for E. Santana/Millwood/Garko?(WHIR)

Postby kidsilk » Thu Jul 16, 2009 11:14 pm

AL only league, 10 teams, 23 man rosters, 7 keepers with 3 year contracts, 5x5 roto style

I am in need of a couple starters as I can make a move in the pitching cats in the second half as I am second overall in batting and 9th overall in pitching. I can only keep MCab for the rest of this year and could keep Santana, Millwood, or Garko for the next 2 years if I choose to do so. I know this doesn't seem like enough for MCab but it is a tough league that puts a lot of emphasis on years left on contracts in trades and I have gotten a bunch of crap offers for MCab already. So, is this worth it or should I ask for Sizemore(who I Could keep next year) in the deal as well and give up Clete Thomas in the deal? Or if you have any other trade ideas with this team let me know. Thanks and leave your links as usual.

As it stands, no way would I do that deal. That's next to nothing for Cabrera, even for just this year. Remember that, as well as he's pitched this year, Millwood has years of a 5 era that say he's not reliable. Santana is the only one I like in that deal, and he's still a big risk. I'd much rather hold on to the top-10 hitter (well, even higher in AL-only) to make a push this year.

If you can get the Sizemore part included...maybe. If you're a Santana believer, then that could work out. Without being in a similar league, it's hard for me to tell, but at least I can imagine that being worthwhile. The original deal -- I just don't see any way to justify that.

If you can get Sizemore in the deal, I would go ahead and pull the trigger...I mean you lose Mcab after this season anyway and atleast you would get a keeper in Sizemore and possibly Santana as well...I would do it....This prob doesnt help much, sorry....

Bay and Kinsler can be kept for the next 2 seasons and Sizemore and Longoria for the next season. Pena can't be kept and Floyd and Jenks can be kept for the next 2 seasons after this one. What are you thinking?

ideas:

1) Kinsler, Garko and Floyd(or Jenks, whomever he will move) for Cabrera, Jose Lopez and one of pettitte, porcello or cahill.

2) Bay and Garko for Cabrera and Wells or Hairston. another idea would be bay, floyd(or jenks) and garko for cabrera, porcello(or cahill) and one of kubel, hairston or wells.

3) Sizemore, Floyd or Jenks, and Garko for Cabrera, Porcello(or Cahill) and Wells or Hairston. or Sizemore and Garko/Overbay for Cabrera and thomas.
