12 team roto 5x5 non-keeper. I'm first in steals (just barely) and 3rd in average and last in HR and RBI but I am way behind on my innings so i need to add a starter. on a pure value basis, is haren worth giving up Aram and Bourn? both players would be replaced by weak waiver players.
alternatively, i might be able to squeeze hank blalock out of him (so aram/bourn for haren/blalock). would that make it worth it?
Not seeing your lineup I say on value alone you do this. Haren is a stud and ARam is an injury risk and Bourn is just average except for his SB. I say do it.
I personally wouldn't touch Blalock if I was toward the top for Avg.
Haren, I feel will be a monster this year for a variety of reasons, but Aram is a question mark. I also own Aramis and don't really know what to expect.
I say stay put even though I love Haren. If you are barely in first for stolen bases Bourne is your guy to stay there.

here's my lineup, the issue with pitching is im on pace to miss the innings cap by almost 250 innings. this means i need to add 2 starters just to meet the max innings. as you can see, bourn and aram are key pieces in my sad offense, so id be starting crap off of waivers if i made the trade. worth it?
C - vmart 1B - n johnson 2B - utley 3B - wright SS - alexei MI - furcal CI - aram OF - c lee OF - ellsbury OF - bourn OF - reimold OF - church U - c guzman U - J fox
DL - beltran, quentin, beltre
P - lincecum P - gallardo P - baker P - smoltz P - bell P - franklin P - f francisco P - contreras (spot starter) P - pavano (spot starter)
If Aram and Bourn are key pieces to your offense then you might reconsider this. On value alone I think you win, since Haren has been dominant this year, and like everyone else says Aram is a question mark. But if you are barely winning in steals, you probably won't stay up there if you ditch Bourn. Also, if you are only trying to meet the innings requirement, then why dont you go for someone that won't tear apart your offense?
If you can patch up your offense and find someone who gets SB, then go for it.. otherwise it might be counterproductive... who is on the WW?

- i can't acquire a just a league-avg SP to help me eat innings b/c ERA and whip are extremely close and one bad start literally leads to a swing of 6-7 pts in the standings. im fluctuating between 3rd in ERA/whip and 8th. can't afford to start throwing out crap SPs or ill wind up 10th in ERA and WHIP.
- the wire is awfully thin. 12 team league with very deep benches. there's really not a single productive hitter on waivers.
am i better off just doing hamels for aram and keeping bourn?

Hamels is not the answer. You'd be buying on his name alone. Cole himself says he has lost the feel for his change up, his best pitch, I would avoid him, who else can you target pitching wise.

i can probably get either wainwright or nolasco for the same price as hamels (i.e. aram straight up for any of those 3).

I'd take Wainwright, plays for a better team and is in a groove right now.
I think Haren is a risk given his second half track record...
I'd rather just keep what you have and just stream pitchers with those two "spot start spots". You should be able to make up that inning pitched total by just streaming pitchers for the rest of the year.
