I'm thinking about dropping Chipper to pick-up Buchholz. Good idea or bad idea?
Our league is a head-to-head points league (non keeper), with weekly roster changes. My philosophy is to have solid batters and to horde pitchers so I can maximize double starts and/or match-ups. I picked up Jones off the waiver wire about a month ago and have yet to start him.
Here's the current roster:
Batters
C – Pablo Sandoval
1b - Albert Pujols
2b - Asdrubal Cabrera
3b - Evan Longoria
SS - Miguel Tejada
OF - Nick Markakis
OF - Curtis Granderson
OF - Matt Kemp
UTL - Lance Berkman
BN – Chipper Jones
Pitchers
SP - Matt Cain
SP - Félix Hernández
RP - Brian Fuentes
RP - Chad Qualls
P - Rich Harden
P – John Danks
P - Clayton Kershaw
BN – Max Scherzer
BN – Nick Blackburn
BN - Tommy Hanson
BN – JA Happ
DL - Daisuke Matsuzaka
DL - Edinson Vólquez
So again... drop Jones for Buchholz. Yea or nay?

It's a shallow league, but at the same time Chipper is too good to drop for a minor league pitcher who will make one start and get sent down to the minors.
Ignore the hype and stick with Chipper. He's helped me win many a league.

Bad idea, unless Penny gets moved (Which I don't see happening) he'll only get 1 start, then be sent down.

I'd package Chipper with someone to get an upgraded second baseman or see if you can trade Chipper straight up for some pitching.
I dropped Chipper for Andrew Bailey, but he's given me value out of the gate, Buchholz may never see much action past his one start and I don't trust him for that start even if he's pitched lights out a couple years ago. That and no one apparently found Chipper to be an upgrade to their DH or 3B spot on their team, if that's the case, then I think you can safely drop him, but I think you could find someone better than Buchholz to pick up.
help with mine too?

Yeah, gotta agree with above. Buchholz isn't up for long. Not worth dropping a consistent performer for him right now.
help?
