Trade B I give: Chad Qualls and Freddy Sanchez I get: Adam Lind
What move would be better for my team? Sanchez doesn't bring much to the table other than average, and Lind gives me a little bit of everything. Werth gives more power with a lower batting average. In both deals I'm giving up Qualls.
Batting C- Joe Mauer 1B- Ryan Howard 2B- Brian Roberts SS- Brandon Wood 3B- Ryan Zimmerman OF- Ryan Braun OF- Matt Kemp OF- Shin-Soo Choo Util- Freddy Sanchez Util- Franklin Gutierrez Bn- Matt Wieters
Pitching SP- Francisco Liriano SP- Yovani Gallardo RP- Trevor Hoffman RP- Chad Qualls P- Rafael Soriano P- Kerry Wood P- Clayton Kershaw Bn- Ricky Romero Bn- Max Scherzer Bn- J.A. Happ Bn- Ramon Troncoso DL- Justin Duchscherer
Tough call, I would say go for offer 2 since Sanchez isnt a very dynamic player, especially on the lowly Pirates. However, if Sanchez gets traded to a better team his numbers could dramitcally imrpove. That being said, I would go with the first offer...I think Werth is a terrific player and the Phillies are going to be awesome in the 2nd half (resurgence of Rollins, addition of Pedro, and possibly Roy Halladay?)
I think Werth will have a big 2nd half, last year he showed signs of how good of a player he can be and this year he is following through with it. He also is hitting in a great lineup and I expect him to continue putting up solid numbers for the rest of the season.
