Anyone have an opinion on this guy. He is starting at home against the Rockies on Sunday, I am way begind on innings in my NL only league, and I am considering starting him. Looks like he has good control (113 BB in 408 minor league innings). His last start was good (7 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 7 K) he gave up a 2 run homerun to Sandoval for the only runs allowed.
Well his last start did come against the Giants who are notorious for having a poor and inconsistent offense, so it's hard to judge. I personally think he'll get rocked by Colorado but anything could happen. He also has a very poor offense backing him up. I'd steer clear regardless, but that's just me. If you're looking for an under the radar spot start i'd give Mike Burns vs PIT a look.
Might be worth a look in an NL only just because he throws in Petco half the time but he doesn't have alot of potential, IMO.
Less than 7k/9 and over a hit per inning in the minors doesn't bode well for him in the majors but like was mentioned the home park and decent control should help some early on.....
I'm planning on using him as a spot starter based on matchups and parks whenever possible. If he's facing a weak team in Petco, then I'll give him a go. If he's facing Philly in Citizens Bank, he's on the bench.

Sometimes guys figure it out. This guys was drafted 4th overall and had arm problems (weak shoulder) from the start. He had surgery and missed all of last year. He has done nothing but impress at all stops so far this year. I really think this guy is worth keeping an eye on, more so than Mat Latos and his inning restrictions.
