AGonz + Cruz for JoHAN whir

Postby cstorms » Wed Jul 15, 2009 7:48 pm

I had aram and manny on the dl and now i have too many bench hitters. Ive been talking with the owner of johan and I think he wants to make this deal happen. Am I giving up too much? there are some decent hitters on the ww as it is a ten team h2h league. It seems good hitting is easier to come by than good pitching so im going for johan. what do you guys think? WHIR

First off, I hope you are starting Gonzo over Stephen Drew...Secondly, you have a solid team, I think this trade is overpaying for Johan...I'd say move Cruz straight up for a strong SP (obviously it won't be Johan), but try a tier down...

personally, though it's fine value wise i'd stay put as well. Your SP is fine with halladay, johnson and bills, and you don't want to be starting drew in utility.

If you did this deal, it would either be drew or a WW hitter starting in your 2nd utility spot. That said, you could use an elite closer(nathan, rivera, papelbon), catcher upgrade, or another big bat.

Personally, i'd be trying to get one of utley, miguel cabrera, hanley, crawford, braun, mauer, mccann, wright, longoria or a-rod with the pieces you are offering.

If you are fairly certain Johan or Halladay can get you one of those bats and cruz and adrian can't, then make the deal.

Really, if they accept a votto/johan trade I would say you fleeced them pretty good.

Votto is a monster. Johan is a second half dominator, Cruz and A-gon are tow of the streakiest in baseball this year, and Agon hasn't homered in a month. So I would say you would win by a very far margin.

i think you should keep agon and deal cruz for a top 10 starter. you should be able to get someone like vazquez or verlander for cruz. id even settle for hamels if i had to.
