I'm sorry, but this is not B.J. Upton all the way. Pedroia is going to hit near .300, with a boat load of runs in the red sox lineup for a long time as long as he stays healthy. plus he's on pace to steal 25-30 bases after stealing 20 last year. I'll take his consistency and production at a shallow position rather than gambling Upton figures it all out one day. Plus, get used to Pedroia "overachieving" the rest of his career as he is a true gamer. He will always get the most out of his talent with his attitude, and makeup.

That said, I'd love to have both in a keeper.

Upton and his potential in a keeper easily for me.

First off.. the only cat that Pedroia is pretty much a lock to outproduce Upton in is Avg... Both hit atop of loaded offenses, so the runs are a wash. Upton has more power than Pedroia so HR are in his favor, RBI are a wash, and SBs are lobsided in favor of Upton.

Even if Upton only hits .265-.270 , I'll take his 15 HRs and 50 SBs any day of the week.
