Nathan throws almost entirely fastballs and sliders. He throws the occasional CB but I don't think he throws many change-ups at all.

I was actually just reading that article myself, but if you notice it says his changeball is second to Rich Harden's but actually better because of how well he uses it with his fastball. A changeup relies on the effectiveness of their fastball too.

So is it who's pitch is best or more effective?

That thread's from 2007. Things have changed since then.

I didn't take it as Dan saying "Yawn, been there, done that." More of pointing in a direction in case people care to read (Dan, I'm giving you benefit of doubt here; don't F up ). I actually tried to find that thread myself, but I am pathetic with the forum's search engine.

it was a little bit of both...more like, "hey, here's an old thread, maybe the mods can merge it" and that way people can see how things have changed (or stayed the same in some cases)

plus i didnt think it was that old, but once i found it i was posting it regardless
