I've been offered Hanley Ramirez for Aaron Hill and Andre Ethier. Seems like a no-brainer to trade for the No. 1 pick in the draft - so, am I seeing this right? Is it a good trade for me? I have to pick someone off the wire to replace Ethier in OF, but Hill is at my Utility spot because I have Jeter at short. Guys on the wire include Magglio Ordonez, Chris Young, Wily Tavares, Nick Swisher, Chase Headley.
It's a 12-team mixed, head-to-head league, and I'm in first by a ton.

Not a trick, it's just that the waiver wire looks pretty well picked over in your league, so the other guy is trying to trade for depth. I still like the value for you, though.

It's not as much of a no brainer as you're making it out to be. Remember, Ramirez has been bothered by injury on and off this year. While it's proven to be nothing major to date, he did miss almost a week's worth of games right before the AS break. You would clearly be getting the best player of the trade, but I'm not sure the combination of Ramirez + Waiver Pickup would be as good as Hill + Ethier.
Based on the guys you show as available, I would rather have Hill + Ethier than Hanley + Ords/Young/Tavarez/Swisher/Headley.
H-Ram has some injuries as of late, but he is clearly a better player than Hill. Also Ethier is not a lot more than what is available. I would make this trade.
It is a 12-owner mixed league with C, !B, 2B, SS, 3B, 3 OF, 2 Utility, 7 pitchers and 5 bench spots. It's head-to-head every week with Runs, HR, RBI, SB, AVG and W, SVS, Ks, ERA and WHIP.

You have enough speed, so I wouldn't look at Taveras. But there's enough on that list to cobble together a good outfield. Gutierrez and Willingham are playing everyday and hitting well. Matsui, Andruw, Cust, and Thames are all decent bats, too, although they aren't really everyday guys (Thames and Cust are really most useful if you can run a platoon). Sheffield, too, although he's been a little cold in July.
Personally, I'd make the trade and grab Willingham, though I'd be willing to play around with that spot if he doesn't keep up his hitting.
