AL only league, 10 teams, 23 man rosters, 7 keepers per year with 3 year contracts, 5x5 roto style
I am currently in 6th place but only 3.5 points out of 4th(the money) and 6 points out of 3rd place so I am within striking distance. The areas I can make my biggest moves are Wins, Ks, WHIP, and ERA so I was looking for a top notch starter to add to my team.
I have been offered Mark Buerhle(3 years left) for Kendry Morales(3 years left). I am seriously considering this and was wondering two things from you guys:
1. Should I do it? 2. Who should I ask for back from his OF to take the place of Morales and who should I give up to him in place of Buerhle?
I'm a White Sox fan but I always think Mark B is overrated in fantasy circles. This is a 5x5 league and he's not a strikeout pitcher, and Morales is a young stud with versatility. In a keeper league, Morales should be in his prime on the cheap for the next two seasons, whereas Buerhle is on the wrong side of 30 and only valuable if he's getting enough wins, which is hard to predict particularly with the White Sox uncertain status of being on the line between contending and rebuilding.
Id stay put also. Never been a big fan of buerhle in Fantasy and bein an Angel fan, Morales has been putting up some numbers of late and will only get better.
Bein in a keeper you wanna go younger than older and buerhle/Junior is as old as it gets
Hang tight
Dangle Koko for a SP and cruise with Miggy and Kendry
it's a very fair offer. I don't see morales getting you more value right now and while it would be nice to plug kendry in to replace cabrera at 1b next year, i'd make the move. buerhle is a nice SP with a proven track record. when you have a shot at getting in the money this season you go for it first and worry about next season second.
with buerhle and lackey, you have a solid pitching base for next season as well.
I can definitely see DVauthrin's point, but I tend to agree with the other posters. It's a tough call but I think I'd likely stay put in your position.
I've got a thing against non strike out pitchers, which affects Buerhle's value. You're also in the bottom half of the standings so I don't really believe in selling youngsters for older guys unless you've got a chance at the championship.
Morales is a key cog to your OF and with Hunter out you'll need his production, hold off. You have enough SP just wait for it to get healthy. Dump Choate for whatever SP is available. Why do you have a MRP? I'd roll with SP for now and get RP later.

thanks for the help
I would rather have Morales as I view him as a very good young corner inf player. He's gonna be around 30-100 and he's very young. U get him for the next 2 years after this. Buerhle is decent but not same value. Time to start taking Morales serious---especially in keeper leagues
