Need Some Advice Quick; Trading Hanley...WHIR

Postby rasto21585 » Sun Jul 12, 2009 9:56 pm

I have this trade offer on the table. Basically I would trade hanley and volquez for morneau, sandoval and mccutchen/rasmus. Is this a wise trade to do? Who should I choose rasmus or mccutchen? If not what offer should I propose then?

It is not a bad deal but I think you could get more.

I hate trading the best player in fantasy potential not named Pujols but this deal may be a good one because you know Morneau is a stud and McCutchen and Sandoval are the real deal. I see this as a coin flip here, don't let Volquez's injuries this year worry you, he is young and will be electric in the future.

no way i do this. morneau is a terrible 2nd half player, although it is a dynasty league. and hanley the best player like everyone said not named pujols

and i traded mccutchen for andre ethier. mccutchen will fall.

I don't like this deal for you. You can get more for Hanley, especially if the other guy's hurting at SS. Be greedy when you're dealing one of the game's best players.

I don't want to be greedy because my league loves to veto. What offer should i propose then?

I like the offer, while you lose arguably the best player in Fantasy Baseball, you get an upgrade at 1st, 3rd, and OF...The best player in Fantasy Baseball doesn't win you a championship, a well rounded roster does...

If you think you're losing too much by losing Volquez...Offer him Guthrie, Kuroda, or Jurrjens...Jurrjens will more than likely get the deal done.

It's definitely a legit offer that comes down to quality vs. quantity. I really like the consistent production you'd be getting in return, but would probably feel a bit better if you could tweak it a bit to include a lesser pitcher than Volquez. When you give up a cat like Hanley, the guy on the receiving end better feel sick to his stomach after the deal. This seems like a pretty fair deal, but I think with a chip like Hanley you should be able to stick it to him. The best part about these forums is to determine whether or not your getting screwed. In this case I'd say no...so the rest is up to your personal preference.
