Geez, it's a MLB team. If it was easy, wouldn't we see no-hitters all the time against teams like the Pads and Nats? Give him his due. If it weren't for a DLed RJ, we wouldn't have seen it.

I'm not sure why people keeping lumping the Nats in with other bad offensive teams other then such people are terribly misinformed. The Nats are middle of the pack in runs scored in the NL and started the day 5th in the NL in team OPS. Some of the teams worse then the Nats on offense: Cubs, Giants, Reds, Braves, Mets, etc.

he also got mad and whined on the called third strike that ended the game (which pitchfx showed was clearly a strike). kind of a whiney douche imo.
The Giants announcers suggested Sanchez was given the two called strikes in that last AB because he had "earned it" by dominating all game, but I thought he painted the corner on that first called strike and the last...mlb.com would suggest both were in the zone. Some all around sweet pitching.

The Padres are terrible.
I'm aware of this, compared to other MLB teams. However, by repeating over and over in a thread about his no-hitter just how terrible this offense is, it's downplaying the achievement, which is a big time achievement regardless of how bad the Padres are. If it weren't, we'd see a handful of no-hitters every year, taking advantage of these poor offenses. It happens, what, once, maybe twice a year? So I was merely pointing out that, despite the Padres offensive woes this season, they are an MLB club and any no-hitter in the bigs is a big deal.
Oh, and also, screw Everth Cabrera for trying to bunt for a base hit with 2 outs in the ninth.
------- I was very happy for Sanchez to get the no-hitter, but why knock a guy on the other team for trying to break it up? I mean, if you're the potential 3rd out in the last inning of a no-hit bid wouldn't you do everything you could to avoid having a no-hitter pitched against your team?
Shucks, if the guy was pitching a perfect game and hurled a 95 MPH fastball at my head I just might take the shot to the dome to break it up. I'd stumble to first base and yell "NO SOUP FOR YOU"

Yeah you don't lose your competitive edge just because someone else is doing great, you try everything to help you team, but then you probably would've call out cabrera if he just stood there looking at pitches go by.
The Nats issue isn't offense, it's that they can't get any pitching help
