Reminds me of a similar no-hitter back in 1990 by Terry Mulholland (also a lefty) then with the Phillies vs the Giants. He had a perfect game until the 8th or 9th inning when the 3B, Charlie Hayes, booted a ball. Mulholland got a DP so he ended up facing the minimum 27 batters in that game. Just goes to shows you weird things happen in baseball that the team no-hit in that game would lose a perfect game but still get a no-hitter in such a similar fashion nearly 20 years later.
