I heard the Mets' hitting coach said "just give me 10 minutes with Francoeur and I'll fix him. ;-7

Pendleton sucks, plain and simple, I havent seen him help anyone as of yet.

This trade look's good for both sides to me. I look forward to watching Frenchy though and hope he rebounds

Something is better than nothing and mets have been doing a lot of nothing most of this season .....

I liked Church but after the last concussion last season he's been pretty much worthless so I'm looking foward to seeing what Francoeur can do in NY.

Correct, except Church is something and Francouer is nothing. Church might just be an average ball player, but Francouer is literally one of the two or three worst everyday starters in the majors. If Francouer was simply never born I truly believe the Braves would have two or three more wins this year, the guy is a black hole in the lineup which may be okay for a defensive SS or 2B but is just unacceptable from your corner OF. A Church/Diaz platoon will be like Bonds circa 2001 compared to the suck from Failcore. But surely the 3 doubles he hit in front of a Met's scout last night is a sign that he is ready to turn his career .300 OBP around......good luck with that :-D ;-D

Yeah, because the Mets offense is really popping right now. What are his hitting sessions like? "Good job Wright! Good job Beltran! Awesome Delgado! Reyes, run really fast, yeah like that! The rest of you guys hit like Wright, Beltran, Delgado, and Reyes! F, Beltran, Delgado, and Reyes are hurt. Hey Murphy just swing like Delgado did, Pagan do that really cool thing I told Beltran about, and Cora, you just run really fast...... It's not working? F it, you guys suck, bring me a real talent like Failcore who will truly showcase my ability to impart hitting wisdom."

WTF? What is Minaya smoking?
Wren must be laughing his butt off, he just handicapped a rival team for a couple of years.

Church vs RHP (career) .282/.355/.468

The ONLY way this makes sense is if Minaya immediately trades him on for something good.
If Francoeur is a Met in 2010, FAIL.

Methinks the Met Nation is a tad bitter these days...

Man, if Jeff Francouer survives one night in CitiField, it will be a miracle. The first time he strikes out (most likely his first at bat) they are going to storm the field and rip him limb from limb. And then they'll climb the rafters up to Omar Minaya's box and set fire to the place, while Omar huddles behind a barricaded door.

Man, it's gonna be great...

if were throwing out one sided numbers..
Francoeur career vs LH- .289/ .334/ .468
and that includes a horrible LH split last season of .210/ .273/ .307

for the future i think Francoeur has more potential, i just think its going to be even harder for him with the Mets than it would have been with the Braves.
the rest of this season i think is basically a chance for Francoeur to show something. if hes still struggling to end the season the Mets would just likely non tender him, thats if he remains with the Mets all season.
