AL only league, 10 teams, 23 man rosters, 7 keepers per year with 3 year contracts, 5x5 roto style.
I am currently in 8th place, at 50.5 points but fourth place(the money) is only 4.5 points ahead of me and 3rd place in 10 points ahead of me. First and second place are pretty much untouchable unless something weird happens so I am looking at making a run for 4th or 3rd place.
I am currently 2nd in overall hitting and 9th in overall pitching. I have been shopping Miggy around since he only has a half year left on the contract and must go in the draft pool after this year. The best pitcher offer I have gotten is Ervin Santana with Ryan Garko thrown in.
But, I just made a move to get Lackey so I should improve my pitching a bit now.
Anyway, knowing all this I have been offered Nelson Cruz who I could keep next year for MCab. I figure the power numbers are a wash and I would be hit in the avg dept which I lead the league in now. But, I gain SB where I can make a big run in and move up 3 or 4 points. I just picked up Scott Hairston too.
So, who do you think will help me get to the money this year, Cruz or MCab? I have been shopping him around for a while and no one else is interested so this is the best offer I have received. So, do the deal or hold onto Miggy?
I think if you're in it to win this year you have to hold on to Miggy and keep the proven top 10 talent. He went off in the second half last year and i think this year we'll see much of the same.
ANyone else from the night crowd have an opinion? I think I could keep my lead in avg without MCab and gain a little ground in SB and the power numbers will be a wash. What do you think? Leave your links. Thanks.
Miggy is the way to go if you want a chance at the money. Plus he was a monster in the second half last year so if it happens again this year you could get better value then. Thanks for the help on mine.
