Garza/Brian Wilson/Ethier for Adam Jones/Porcello

Postby Padres Fan » Thu Jul 09, 2009 11:58 am

I am in a 12 team ESPN Keepr league in its 1st year at the end of the season we get to keep up to 8 players, this was a auction style draft so any players we keep value goes up at $5, free agents are accounted for $5 dollars if kept. I am currently in 1st place with a 8 point lead, and my highest priced player is Adrian Gonzalez at $14. I make a lot of waiver wire moves and play who is hot. I offered a trade with the league commish who is 9th place and 24 points back offereing my Matt Garza, Brian Wilson, and Andre Ethier for Russ Martin and Clayton Kershaw.

The trade for Martin/Kershaw was rejected and he kept offering Pierzynski instead.

I have a new trade now Garza/Wilson/Ethier for Adam Jones/Rick Porcello

My team (roto style scoring)
C-Joe Mauer
C-Kurt Suzuki
1B-Adrian Gonzalez
2B-Orlando Hudson
3B-Mark Teahen

Tough call. I would probably stand pat. You have Mauer so you wold be playing Martin at Util which negates some of his value. Kershaw is emerging but I still do not think you are getting enough in return. Then again, I have never played in a league of this style so I can't really say. Good luck and thanks for the help on mine!

We actually start 2 catchers and both Wislon and Garza have been a headache this season.

I don't think I'd do this. I'm not familiar with that type of league either but Garza is also young and should only get better and with Manny in the lineup the next couple of years, Ethier could put up some great numbers.

it's close, but maybe just a hair shy of what you should get in return. Then again, if you really want Martin and Kershaw, go for it. Eithier is the one I would regret letting go.

Well I offered a trade to another person since the Russ Martin/Kershaw deal kept falling through (he wanted Ethier straight up for Pierzynski).

Now I have a Ethier/Garza/Wilson for Adam Jones/Porcello deal going.

is that agood one?

i hate this for you. ethier has as much upside as jones, garza is better than porcello and is young, and you are giving away a decent closer for free. find a different deal.
