Should I deal Haren for Rollins?
5X5 Roto Keeper
Haren's 2nd half #'s have traditionally been terrible and Rollins is bound to come around. I can plug Rollins in at SS for Furcal and I have Sabathia and Hamels so I can afford to lose Haren. I would love to put the 120 innings of 2.16 ERA and .83 WHIP with 120 k's in my back pocket and capitalize here. What do you guys think?

It would help to see your roster for one, Hamels has been mediocre this season, and Haren is great and may shake off his second half struggles and pull away with the CY Young. Haren is also one of the most consitent starters out there, and Hamels hasn't proved his consitency (maybe if he conditioned in offseason instead of hitting the media circuit he would be better) Rollins is not as bad as he looks and he is slightly a upgrade over Furcal, If this was a redraft league I'd say offer Hamels/Furcal for Rollins, but since this is a keeper I would need to see the full roster to make a recommendation.
help with mine?

Thanks bud, here's my roster.
I just feel that Rollins will hit around .300 10 HR 25 SB 50 Runs 40 RBI the rest of the way because of his low BAIP and the general law of averages. In the same fashion, Haren should be around 8 wins 3.50 ERA 90 K's 1.20 WHIP based on his terrible 2H performances. I mean the guy is not going to finish the season with a WHIP below .95, is he?

He said he has absolutely zero interest in Furcal. Its basically Haren for Rollins straight up or no deal.

Haren is your best pitcher, CC plays in a homer park and is prone to give up may long balls, Harden is a injury risk especially in the 2nd half, Smoltz is older and coming back froma bad injury, Baker is okay but not frontline starter material, and you have to gamble on Hamel having a great second half. Your offense without Rollins is stellar no need to handicap your pitching to risk if Rollins will turn it around.

at this point you can get someone better than rollins - no reason to aim on a buy low candidate.

Agree with above poster. You can get much more for Haren. Good luck.

you think those are terrible numbers?
this doesnt seem like much of a buy low or sell high. rollins has been hitting well lately, but as has been said your SP isn't very deep right now.

Dan Haren's second half slide has been blown way out of proportion. You are talking about trading a top three SP, for a top 5ish 2B. It doesn't make much sense to me. I have had both players this year on my fantasy team and don't expect Phillips to improve that much.
