Wow.
So they're just going to eat the $10mil he's owed in '10?

You'd think if they're paying that money anyway, and they're toast this year that they'd try their hardest to fix him. Obviously not interested in that

I think they have tried to "fix" him. He has sucked for the most part after coming back from the DL and now he has started to complain about not getting enough innings. Someone will sign him and the Jays will save a few dollars with that.
So since he is gonna get paid all that money from Toronto shouldn't he play on the cheap somewhere else? Tampa needs reliever help, but so do a lot of clubs. Left Handed Reliever are always at a premium so I dont see him being available for long.

Yeah. It's similar to what happened to Frank Thomas last season. The Jays released him and the A's signed him for the minimum.

What on earth is it going to take to fire JP already?!?
Well, he's running the Blue Jays with a payroll that ranks 16th out of 30 in baseball. They're definitely outperforming their payroll this year at least and you have to give the GM some credit for that, right? He's finding gems at a bargain up and down the roster (Lind, Hill, Romero, Downs).
