Vista problems, any ideas?

Postby AussieDodger » Wed Jul 08, 2009 11:05 am

I am on Vista now, and when I go to play old games it won't play them and says "does not support full screen mode" or something like that.

Also, it only has a TRIAL version of Word/Excel and therefore won't save anything, rendering it virtually useless.

WTF garbage is this?

Any clever cafe-ers got any solutions? :-C

A: How old of games are you talking about? IIRC Vista needs an emulator to run DOS games.

B: Either buy the full version of Office or get a free open source Office suite like OpenOffice.org

Quake 3 (1999?), and I downloaded a free version of Leisure Suit Larry 2 that it won't let me play O:-)

Quake 3 should run ok in Vista, it might be a resolution setting. Make sure you have updated graphic drivers. And then try setting the game resolution to the same as your Vista setting.
