Is this enough for Grady? WHIR!!!

Postby WhipperSnappers44 » Wed Jul 08, 2009 10:53 am

Hey all.....12 Team H2H Yahoo league (10 CAT) (currently 2nd place)

I just heard that G.Sherrill (RP-Bal) will most likely be traded to the Yanks and be put into a Holds position.

Considering I have only 2 other RP's then I am getting quite nervous.

I am wondering if I would be giving up too much or too little? The trade is:

My: R.Zimmerman/J.Votto/G.Sherrill

for

His: G.Sizemore/J.Nathan

I have been trying to acquire Grady Sizemore (just because I think he is going to tear this 2nd half up) and I have also been trying to get rid of my over abundance of positions (I am having issues deciding on who to sit and start)

My extra position guys that I wouldn't mind trading are: J.Votto, R.Zimmerman, A.Hill

This league isn't too bright either so I figure I would try and grab a RP while people don't know about Sherrill getting traded.

My Team:

J.Mauer, R.Howard, I.Kinsler, B.Inge, M.Tejada, N.Cruz, A.Lind, N.Markakis, A.Hill (bench-J.Ellsbury, J.Votto, R.Zimmerman)
R.Nolasco, J.Verlander, R.Romero, S.Kazmir, T.Hanson, M.Garza, K.Slowely(DL), M.Capps, M.Rivera, G.Sherrill

His Team:

K.Susuki, K.Morales, D.Pedroia, I.Stewart, D.Jeter, L.Scott, S.Choo, G.Sizemore, J.Werth, J.Hairston, A.Cabrera, M.Lowell
T.Wakefield, J.D.Rosa, E.Bedard, J.Marquis, J.Lester, Joba, J.Nathan, R.Soriano, A.Bailey, B.Lidge

Thanks again and WHIR (100%)

Well.....no responses yet??? I hope it's not because I wrote a book....lol

If that's the case then I will sum up my question.....it all boils down to:

My Votto/Zimmerman/Sherrill for His Sizemore/Nathan

Too much to give? Too little? What trade shall I pull off? He wants Zimmer and Votto and I am looking to get an RP and Grady!

Thanks again! I will help you if you need it!

I would definitely go for it. Sizemore is starting to heat up again and Nathan, some consider him the number 1 closer in baseball right now. You are upgrading in both areas. And the players you are giving up are currently your bench players. The ones you currently have playing in those positions are monsters so you are not losing anything there.

It is win situation for you.

Hey man, this would be a great trade for you but I doubt the other owner will do it. Look at it like this; Nathan>>Sherrill, however Zimmerman plus Votto are pretty valuable if the other guy really wants 3rd base help and Votto's power at either util or 1st there is a slight chance he might do it. The kicker is Nathan for Sherrill I don't think he will go for that.

Help with mine?

Thanks for the help.....

I just offered up the trade. If he doesn't go for the offer then should I ask for Lidge instead? (or a different RP - I see Lidge/Soriano/Nathan as being the only ones he really has worth anything)

I checked the WW and there is absolutely nothing as far as RP's so.....

Thanks again!

like like a very generous offer on your end. i think the other owner would bite, you may almost be goiving too much up. i might even start by asking for a bit more, maybe another bat. but i think you are offering enough. se mine?

Ok......since the last Poster mentioned that I might be giving a little too much then what do you think if I added Slowley (get him off my DL) and ask him for either Bedard or Lester? (Most likely Bedard since Lester might be harder to get)

so the offer would be:

My: Zimmerman/Votto/Sherrill/Slowley

for

HIS: Sizemore/Nathan/Bedard

What do you think about that one?

Thanks again all

if your league isnt that bright i would trade Nelson Cruz. he is high on ESPN player rater and still high in yahoo ranks when i think he is going to lose PT as well. so sell him now.

Well.....considering Cruz has nothing to do with this question in particular then this doesn't help me but give me your opinion on Cruz! Thanks for the heads up!

I couldn't trade Cruz to this guy because he is really only looking for a 1B and a 3B and not an OF.

Thanks though.....I might look to move Cruz later!

sorry man, i meant like move cruz instead of votto. or look to another team. i live in cleveland and on Sports Time Ohio, the tribe is talking about shutting down Victor and Grady if we do not get back into the race for the AL CENTRAL right after the all star break. yeah i mean sizemore hit 2 HR last night but he is notorious for a bad second half, his OPS drops about .50-.100 pts in OPS and
hits about .15-.20 pts off his batting avg

sorry dude.
