Halladay and KRod/Paps for Carlos Lee and Holliday?(WHIR)

Postby kidsilk » Tue Jul 07, 2009 9:20 pm

Mixed league, 10 teams, 6x6 H2H league with hits and Quality starts included so pitching is pretty important. Daily changes. I feel like I need some extra pitching and can afford to lose some of my OF depth.

I have been offered Roy Halladay and my choice of Papelbon or KRod for my Carlos Lee and Matt Holliday. Should I do it and if so should I ask for KRod or Papelbon?

MY TEAM:

First off, thank you for leaving an answer on my post. I would actually do this trade and ask for Papelbon (even though KRod wouldn't be too shabby, but I think Pap is the safer bet). Holliday is on your bench and you can plug in Choo for Lee. To get an ace like Halladay and a top 5 closer for Lee and a bench player, you got to pull the trigger.

Thanks for the help with mine.

This is an interesting deal. I love the potential addition of Halladay to your already nasty squad. I also like adding a top 5 closer to a weak bullpen. What I don't like is losing Holliday pending he gets dealt to a contender and begins to return to form. With that said, you can't bet on it, so I'd do the deal. Ask for Paps and secure yourself a playoff run.

Initially, I was thinking you shouldn't do this, but after looking at your OF depth, I think this could really help you. You enhance your SP staff and the addition of KRod OR Paps would be a huge improvement. I'd prefer Paps, btw though.

thanks for helping with mine

I would do this, get Paps if you can over K Rod, also what OF's are on waivers in your league?

This is a nice deal for you. Your pitching gets a huge boost. Take Paps in the deal without a doubt.

This is a great deal. Holliday isn't going to be the same guy he was in Col. and you are getting a QS machine in Halladay. Take Paps over K-Rod and run.

Help please

yeah, at first I wasn't sure ... because your pitching looks more than solid to me. However, you do have a deep bench, and the addition of Halladay and Paps would really put your staff over the top.

you should try to upgrade your 3B if you can. move some of your SP. you're team would be absolutely loaded if you had a reynolds/wright/youkilis type.
