He's day-to-day. His manager said he should start today. I don't see the big deal....

How many Hanley threads are you planning to start? viewtopic.php?t=392783

The Cafe's more of a discussion forum than it is live news, although it's quite excellent for long-term speculation and projections. And starting two Hanley threads within a 24-hour period on top of comparisons to godawful cbssports is really not necessary.

The latest from rotowire:

"Manager Fredi Gonzalez said he that expects Ramirez (hip) to play at least two games in the Marlins' series against the Diamondbacks, which starts Thursday, the team's official site reports.
Spin:
Gonzalez acknowledged that may be a little optimistic, but what is inferred from his tone is that this remains a day-to-day deal and not something long-term for Ramirez."

Today begets another concerning update:

Ramirez was not in the lineup Wednesday for a fourth straight game due to a right hip flexor, the Miami Herald reports.
Recommendation: Ramirez took batting practice Wednesday, but said he still felt stiff and was not sure when he would be ready to play, which puts his status for next week's All-Star Game in doubt. (Rotowire.com)

I hope they rest him for a few games and he skips the All Star game and comes back strong in the 2nd half, but we'll see

He pinch hit tonight and ended up with two at bats.... a single and a walk. Unfortunately the flounder hitting behind him made sure Hanley never made it to 2nd base either time. :-t
