Lincecum/Beckham for A-Rod/Maholm? WHIR!!!

Postby Brave New One » Tue Jul 07, 2009 5:33 pm

So, I'm in 1st place in my 12 team Roto Keeper league. I am stacked, except @ 3B. I have been rolling with C.Davis (demoted bum) and Beckham. Guy just offered me A-Rod and a throw in P.Maholm for my Timmy and Beckham. Do I jump on this? I have a nice pitching lead with Greinke, Gallardo, J.Vasquez, Bedard, Baker, Slowey, Cahill and B.Webb on the DL. I "THINK" I can take the SP hit, but I hate giving up Timmy in a keeper. Thoughts? WHIR!

I don't think I'd do this, Arod is a good player and will upgrade you big time at third, but I hate the huge hit at starting pitching. Plus with the Giants in the running to make it to the playoffs, I see Timmy being very good the whole way out...

I think you're better off streaming hot 3b bats off the waiver wire than trading your best pitcher.

Hell no... not in a keeper. Timmy is easily the best fantasy SP in baseball. I think Beckham is decent. I'd look elsewhere if you really want to improve 3b.

help please

DO NOT give up Lincecum in a keeper. Go for a different 3B and give up one of your other SP.

My thoughts are Aramis as you could get him for low because he just came off the DL, or if you want to give up a lot go for a keeper in Longoria.

Try giving up someone like Bedard, who is having a stellar year, or Vasquez instead.

Shocked @ the little love for A-Rod. Should I just keep Timmy, and drop C.Davis for Edwin Encarnacion? I could then just rotate him and Beckham...ride the hot bat @ 3B. Should I hold onto Davis...he makes me sick.

I wouldn't do this in a redraft and definitely not in a keeper.

I am actually an ARod supporter most of the time, but in a Roto keeper, no way I get rid of Lincecome. Try to deal a lesser SP for a different 3B if you can, and don't sleep on Beckham. It looks like he has caught up to major league pitching pretty quickly. He could prove to be pretty valuable down the stretch.

I always take the bat over the arm. Id take ARod. Once he gets going he's going to put up huge numbers in that band box. Still a number of years left in his tank imo
