Trade for keeper SPs. WHIR!

Postby JohnnnyD » Mon Jul 06, 2009 8:37 pm

This is my first keeper league and I actually inherited it from an inactive owner but I am having trouble determining the values of my players when trying to move them. After being in the league for a few weeks now it seems that the league's H2H scoring favors pitching for the main part. So, since i am only using about 7/10 starts each week I was going to look to pick up a starting pitcher. Who do you think I could get for some of my hitters or maybe even my RPs. Any other advice would also be appreciated. Other league info, its a 16 team league so its pretty deep and H2H keeper (as noted before).

My roster:

C Russell Martin
1B Derrek Lee
2B Chase Utley
3B Garrett Atkins
SS Clint Barmes
CF Cody Ross
OF Cameron Maybin
OF Pat Burrell
UTIL Miguel Olivo

Bench
Eric Byrnes
Casey Kotchman

Pitching
Josh Beckett
Josh Johnson
Mike Pelfrey
Jeremy Guthrie
Brian Fuentes
Huston Street
Scott Elbert
Chris Perez
Chris Volstad
Ryan Rowland-Smith
John Grabow
Tim Wakefield
Jason Vargas

DL Brandon Webb
DL Justin Duchscherer

*EDIT Joe Saunders is on the wire and Andy Sonnanstine and Joel Hanrahan are FAs, thats about it

Move D. Lee for the best SP you can get. You can replace Lee with Kotchman, which isn't a dream, but if you want a SP, it seems that is the best move to make it happen. Who is available on your FA list?

drop perez - he won't give you many holds, saves, a good era, or a good whip.

Thanks for the help with mine!

I would say Derek Lee is your most expendable part right about now, and could probably be flipped for a Matt Garza type if that's what you're looking for. Either that, or comb through the waiver wire and try to find the next big thing, which oftentimes will pay off come September. Hope this helped
