Hamilton coming back soon... who to drop? WHIR

Postby thejusman1 » Mon Jul 06, 2009 7:47 pm

My coveted 2nd round pick is returning... who I drop? I feel like my OF is pretty good, and they all play nearly every day, so I don't necessarily need even one bench bat. Maybe I could drop Ethier because he's going to sit at least once a week with the Dodgers OF situation? (how can I though, with 16hrs through 81 games and a .291 career avg?) Maybe Werth, because he is a career .263 hitter? (but 20/20 potential just doesn't grow from trees and that lineup is LOADED with R/RBI opportunities) Maybe Buehrle, because he has a low K/9 and therefore doesn't get me Ks? (He's been pitching really nicely though.) I wouldn't dare drop Harden, would I?

10 Team League, H2H Daily Lineup, Keeper league (any 3 players)

C - Pablo Sandoval
1B - Prince Fielder
2B - Ian Kinsler
3B - David Wright
SS - Ben Zobrist
OF - B.J. Upton
OF - Adam Jones
OF - Andre Ethier
Util - Jayson Werth
DL - Josh Hamilton

SP - Billingsley, Hamels, Lackey, Edwin Jackson, Harang, Kazmir, Harden, Buehrle
RP - Bell, Franklin, Street, Fuentes
DL - Ervin Santana (how much of a bust has this guy been, btw?)

WHIR!!

Rich Harden. He is no longer a star.

If it were me I'd drop Harden or Buehrle.

(As a Cubs fan I lean towards Buehrle, but that's probably just bias talking.)

I think dropping Kazmir is tempting too....and I own Kazmir! It's a tough call. Your team is solid all the way around. I'd probably drop Buerhle. But I'd be tempted to drop Kazmir and Harden.

Drop Harden. He simply doesn't have a history of being healthy. Even if he does post a great ERA, it helps you barely as much as a good relief pitcher.

Kazmir has a consistent history that suggests he can get back healthy and succeed.

I'd probably drop Buehrle or Harden. Buehrle is limited in value because of his low K/9 ratio. Harden is not what he use to be, but I'd rather have him and his K's.

Definitely drop Beurhle or Harden, no question about it. I guess its up to you which one to drop. Do you believe Harden can turn it around? I would probably keep Harden and hope he finds it.

I would drop Ethier. I'm an Ethier owner, but Hamilton will best Ethier in RBI's. If you do go with a pitcher, drop Buehrle.

Help with mine please http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=392810
