Hi, Cafe. It's been a long time since I've posted, but I've just received a baffling trade offer:
Other Team gives: ARod, Jimmy Rollins, Oswalt and Mariano Rivera
for my: Hanley Ramirez
The league details are relevant here: it's a 12-team roto 5x5 league with no MI/CI positions -- just the standard 8 fielders plus utility. It's a keeper league, and we can keep up to five players. Each kept player costs you a draft pick, the round of which depends on when he was drafted and how long it's been (every year you keep a player, he costs a pick 3 rounds earlier than the previous year's cost). Here's the (a?) kicker: I drafted HRam a couple years ago, very late, so he only costs a 13th round pick to keep for next year (and so would only cost the other team a 13th round pick to keep for next year). ARod and Rollins both cost 1st rounders (which means I'd give up my 1st and 2nd round picks to keep them).
I'm strongly tempted to turn it down, but I wanted to get some other opinions. Any replies (even "That's a no-brainer...") are welcome
Thanks! Steve (Moxie Browns)
PS a little bit of background may be entertaining - right after I started playing fantasy baseball, and the year our league became a keeper league, the guy offering this trade got ARod from me for Nomar and Derek Lowe, and he's had ARod ever since. I hadn't even really followed baseball before, let alone played fantasy, so I was ripe for fleecing.
Edit: I just reread the guidelines post, and realized my roster might be helpful. Here it is:
C Mauer 1B Fielder 2B B Phillips 3B Chipper Jones SS HRamirez OF Bourn, Crawford, Bay Util Swisher Bench (Offense): Hairston, Atkins, Delmon Young, Maybin
SP: Burnett, Vazquez, Cliff Lee, Aaron Cook, Pettitte, Bedard (DL), Hudson (DL) RP: Hoffman, Franklin, Ziegler, Wuertz, Ramon Ramirez, Choate, Jim Johnson (4 of those pitchers are on the bench - we start 3 SP, 3 RP, and 3P)

Looks like all the guys he's offering in the trade are getting old besides arod(he's getting up there though). Idw, I think I would keep hanley for that reason since it's a keeper league and you lose out on early round draft picks.
