So as some already know on these boards, I'm trying to complete a trade to get a blockbuster player on my team. Here is my current roster:
C: V Martinez 1B: M Teixera 2B: R Cano 3B: C Jones SS: B Zobrist OF: A Jones OF: J Upton OF: C Crawford DH: Alexei Ramirez BN: Aramis Ramirez BN: Josh Hamilton
I want to reduce my roster by two players and grab a top notch player. The team in last place who I'm convincing still has a chance at making the playoffs this year if he would just get some more solid players currently has him.
So I'm about to offer him Josh Hamilton, Adam Jones and Alexei Ramirez for Hanley Ramirez... I'm pretty sure I can convince him of this trade because Jay Bruce is the best outfielder on his team and he has Yunel Escobar as his other ShortStop. So I think the upgrade all around his roster with the two outfielders will more than make up for what he loses by getting Alexei Ramirez at Short instead of Hanley Ramirez.
Now my main question is this, am I offering too much for Hanley Ramirez or am I making a good fair trade? This trade has risk written all over it for both him and me: I'm essentially putting all my eggs into one basket by the name of Hanley Ramirez, and he's risking whether Jones, Alexei and Hamilton live up to their second half expectations.
The other benefit I get from this trade is that I will be able to add a couple more closers or a closer and a streaming starting pitcher to my team to help solidify my teams dominance in my league (currently in first place by 12 games over second).
So what do you think? Should I offer this trade (I'm 80% certain that I can convince him to take this trade), or am I taking on too much risk?
I will help everyone in return, post up your links and I'll help you out!
if it were me, i would trade han ram. but the thing is you're gambling too much. you need to get back someone else. you said you want some spots to stream guys, but you don't need to stream if you're solid. so solidify a spot. maybe pick up someone who is a great third or fourth sp, like a czam.
