Which pitcher?

Postby wkpdpack » Sat Jul 04, 2009 9:21 pm

Need to pick up a pitcher to replace Richmond who went on the DL? Who do I take a chance on being the best the rest of the year. I'm currently 1st in ERA, T2nd in WHIP, 2nd in K's, 4th in W. This is a 12 team keeper league, 5x5 roto scoring.

Current staff: Baker, Billingsley, Greinke,Kuroda, Lee, Millwood, Scherzer, Bell, KRod.

Options to pick: Penny, Marquis, Contreras, Volstad, Hammel, Piniero, Davis, Ohlendorf, Lannon, Perkins.

Who to I go with?

Contreras is red hot, and I like Lannan a lot - he's underrated and flying way under the radar on that horrible Nationals team. Go with one of them - I'd go Lannan if it's a keeper league and there's any chance you can keep him for a late round.

I would go with Marquis or Lannan. Both have looked good lately and would be nice pick ups. I personally would go with Lannan.

thanks for your help with mine

would you take one to just start at home? Lannan has been great at home..
2.03 ERA/ 1.18 WHIP/ .246 BAA
compared to on the road..
5.12 ERA/ 1.55 WHIP/ .274 BAA
thats not including todays game.

none of the other names really wow me, but using Lannan at home could be beneficial.

With the way he's been pitching as of late, I'd feel confident with Contreras.
