Which trade should I do?(WHIR)

I am in an AL only, 10 team, 23 man roster,7 keepers with 3 year contracts, 5x5 roto style.

I have MCab and Shields on expiring contracts and have been receiving offers for them from a couple of the guys above me in the standings. I am currently in 4th place, one point ahead of 5th and 5 points behind 3rd. The top 4 places come in the money. But, I am considering trading these guys for good keepers that will help me this year and the next couple of years. But, I am torn between if MCab and Shields will help me stay in the top4 this year more than the guys I would be getting back. Anyway, here is what is on the table.

MCab(expiring contract), Shields(expiring contract) for Nelson Cruz(3 years left) and John Danks(3 years left)

or

MCab, Shields, Murphy for Garko,Howell, and Sizemore(2 years left)

Which one if any should I do? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time and leave your links!

I like the trade for Danks and Cruz the most between the two. I think that Danks will be solid in the years to come, and would be very nice in your rotation. That being said, losing MCab and Shields would definitely hinder your chances at the money this year.

I'm tempted to suggest holding on to both of them and making a run for it this year. However I've never played in a keeper league myself, so I can't fully understand the feeling of playing out the season with both MCab and Shields only to lose them for nothing. So if you come to the conclusion that you need to get a return for them, I'd definitely take the Danks/Cruz deal.

i like the sizemore deal better. cant forget sizemore has been a beast past couple seasons. plus his two years remaining should be SOLID. howell is also a good young player.


the reason i would not to the first trade is that you will basically forfeit this year by giving up Mcab for nelson cruz lol.

Of the two trades, I like the Danks, Cruz deal better. I really don't like the Sizemore deal at all. Sizemore still has the issue of the elbow which ultimately he may need surgery on. That would be enough to keep me from trading for him if I'm looking at a run for the money. Since you are looking at a run for the money, I would want the best players possible. I think one of those is defintiely MCab and therefore i wouldn't make the trade.

Do you guys think I would be better off just holding on to Shields and MCab? Who would help me the most in going for the money this year? MCab and Shields or Cruz and Danks? I am kinda torn because I think Cruz is the real deal but MCab is MCab. LIke I said I am a point out of 4th place right now and 5 points out of 3rd. First and second place are way up there like 18 points ahead of me so I don't think I can catch them. But, I can finish in the money. So, should I trade for Cruz and Danks or stay put with what I have? Thanks and leave your links!

Assuming 1st and 2nd get much more money than 3rd or 4th, if you're that far out of the top 2 then I'd take the Cruz deal. I really don't like the Sizemore deal at all.
