I think whoever is getting Halladay is winning out but Ethier is a sleeper to go crazy the second half of the year so I say that it isn't vetoable. Just my opinion.

please help

Thats the dumbest thing i've heard. I would veto but it could be fair. Veto is for collusion not trades that "could be fair" Don't ruin draft and trade games.

It depends on the circumstances. You should only veto a trade if it looks like collusion, but I think that trade is lopsided enough that it could be collusion. I would let it go through if the team getting Ethier/Happ is higher in the standings or in need of an OF with a large surplus of pitching. Otherwise, I'd probably veto.

Do you guys really think it could end up being fair? The only way I can see the Ethier side winning is if Halladay goes down with some kind of unexpected injury, but I dunno. :-/

Halladay side gets better of deal, but no way this trade is vetoable.

Vetoes are pretty much only for collusion, and IMO, for the sake of preventing the league from becoming a joke; I have seen many trades in several of my leagues in the past, and they have been so ridiculously one-sided that they were vetoable. But... in saying that, unless there is a lot of money at stake, I think that you have to allow them unless you're sure of collusion.

Example: this year a trade went through in my league that everyone else in the leage went nuts about, including me. I posted it here in the forums and everyone that responded laughed at it too. It was Carpenter for Beltran + someone else (I don't remember who). This was when Carpenter was on the DL and Beltran was putting up insane numbers. It was a ridiculous trade, fueled principally by the one guy's totally homer attitude to Cardinals players... but... guess what... it seems that we all had it wrong and I in particular have eaten a fairly large portion of humble pie...

Ha ha ha ha.

I still think that it was a crazy trade... but hey...
This game means nothing.... unless I'm winning!

Thanks for all the responses guys --pretty much confirmed my take --uneven trade but not vetoale. Although there is some decent money (winner gets at least a grand and we pay other places also)Im sure its not collusion. Had problem with this guy before ., made bad trades with his father and we basically barred him from trading with his father (hes 48 father 68) . I always blamed father he always claimed he was just accepting offers. Looks like he was honest this is second bad trade he orchestrated -- his days are numbered , we weed out the weak every couple yrs.

Doesn't sound like collusion, so don't veto it. But, as everyone else said, Halladay is the better side.

Help with mine:
