Fantasy Experts. Need Help Landing Wright. WHIR!

Postby jmcampbe11 » Sat Jul 04, 2009 3:12 pm

10 team roto league. Currently in 2nd place, but I'm dead last in batting average. I really want to work out a trade for Wright (would help me considerably in batting avg) and the other owner seems willing to trade him. Need some suggestions on what/who I should offer. He's definitely inteterested in A.Gonzalez and Longoria, but he's lukewarm on Sizemore. Thoughts? Any trade ideas?

Keep in mind this is a modified keeper league. We each keep our top three players each season.

MY TEAM-------------HIS TEAM
C-Martin--------------C-Napoli
1b-A.Gonzalez------1b-Youkilis
2b-Phillips-----------2b -Pedroia
ss-Alx.Ramirez------ss-Tejada
3b-Longoria---------3b-Wright
Of-Sizemore---------Of-C.Lee
Of-Adm.Jones-------Of-Bay
Of-Choo--------------Of-Victorino
Of-Dye---------------Of-Cruz
Of-Pence------------Of-Podsednik
CI-C.Jones----------CI-Sandoval
MI-Stewart----------MI-Bonifacio
Ut-Kubel-------------Ut-Shefield
B-Ludwick-----------B-Podsednik
B-E.Encarnacion----B-Schierholtz

the only reason i could forsee that your team isn't doing well is ba is because aram is pulling you down. but he's picking it back up, so just be patient. no point in giving up sizemore or longo for wright. your team should not only be good, but it could be very good in avg. i don't see a guy in there that can't hit .290 or above. stay put.

I've pulled off a few trades that have helped, but I'm still considerably behind in batting avg. For context my team batting avg is .261 and the next closest team is at .267. The team leading the league in batting average is hitting .284, but most of the middle of the pack teams are in the .270s? I feel like I need a guy like Wright to move up...and if I do I can pick up 4-6 more points.

I don't see too much of a match between the two teams. You could maybe try for a parallel trade of AGon and Longoria for Youk and Wright. You would be losing out on power but gaining in avg. He might go for something like that since AGon and Longoria are hitting for power and Wright is stuck on 4 dingers. You would be losing out on the AGon side but in the long run be winning out on the WRight side of things. This is all I can see with this team at this time. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

please help

What about working something around A.Gonzalez and Youkilis? Would that be a better move?

here's a couple of possibilities:

give: AGonz + Dye/Choo
get: Youk + Sandoval
-- you could slide Ludwick into an OF spot, but you'd be losing some power, and probably be giving up more value than you are getting -- but you need avg

give: AGonz + Sizemore + pence/jones
get: youk + wright + podsednik
-- this will definitely help in avg, but will leave your OF weak - but as above you could move Ludwick and Kubel to an OF spot

give: AGonz + Longoria
get: youk + wright
-- you might have to give up a little more than this to land wirght and youk, but it's a start

Good suggestions. Which of the three do you like the best? Keep in mind the other owner's very high on Sandoval. Also, I like the idea of finding a way to get Ludwick into my lineup, but he wouldn't exactly be helping my battinga vg.
