N. Cruz for Tulowitzki WHIR

Postby slink » Sat Jul 04, 2009 12:04 pm

The situation: I am dead last in average and OPS and doing mediocre in all other hitting categories. I think I have a very strong outfield but I also have 2 good SS options, although neither are producing this year. I've been offered Tulowitzki for Nelson Cruz.

My team:
One year, 11 Team Roto League - 31 moves remaining

R,HR,RBI,SB,AVG,OPS
C: Napoli
1B: Pena
2B: Pedroia
3B: Reynolds
SS: Drew
OF: B. Upton, J. Upton, N. Cruz
Util: Victorino, Bay
Bench: McGehee, Rollins, J. Lopez, Adam LaRoche
DL: Beltre

W,L,K,SV,ERA,WHIP
SP: Lincecum, Oswalt, Gallardo, Harang, Gaudin
RP: Soria, F. Cordero, Rodney, Nunez

My question: Is Tulowitzki an upgrade on Rollins or Drew? Am I getting the better player in this deal? Would I be wise to take this deal and then use Tulo as my starting SS for the remainder of the season and try to move one of Drew/Rollins?

No way would I do this deal... unless you can get a deal for Rollins or Drew for a HR/RBI producer first. Cruz might be inconsistent and a 260 hitter, but when he is hot he puts em out frequently, and you need some power in your OF.

Help me too? viewtopic.php?t=392543

I don't believe that rollins will rebound this year. I think drew may rebound. I think tulo is just beginning his rebound and will be solid in the second half. I think it might be hard to move rollins and drew to be honest unless you can convince someone they are buy low. You will be losing quite a bit with cruz and I think his numbers will be similar or better when hamilton is back.I may look for a deal where you can deal both a SS and an OF for a shortstop, maybe you can keep your starting outfielders and upgrade your SS. Thanks for the help on mine.

Can you package Drew and McGehee or Drew and LaRoche for a better SS? Unless find a Rollins fanboy, it is a tougher sell.
N Cruz for Tulowitzki isn't bad, but it still leaves you with an OF vacancy of sorts and ROllins on the B.

I'd say no to this deal. You need Cruz in your OF, and I'm not in favour of carrying 3 SS, all of whom are stuggling, because you can't trade them and you'll just get more frustrated trying to figure out which of the 3 to start and which 2 to sit on the bench.
