deal involving pujols+lincecum WHIR

Postby ltrocq » Fri Jul 03, 2009 10:46 pm

someone offered me lincecum+morneau for my pujols+cueto. it's a very fair trade, but i'm thinking with the way pujols has played so far this year i can't do this deal even with as well as lincecum has pitched recently.

what do you guys think?

VERY tempting, but I think I'd keep Pujols unless I really need pitching help.

Any thoughts on this one? viewtopic.php?t=392509

Wow, that is a crazy offer. I've never traded Pujols in any league where I've had him, and in all leagues I've been in over the last several years I've at least made an attempt to trade for him. In other words - he's the best, bar none. He's simply on another level.

That said, I think I make this trade. I just don't buy into Cueto long term, and I think Lincecum is the Pujols of the pitching world and Morneau is a great replacement. I think I'd do it, but I don't blame if you if you decide you just can't part with Pujols.

i think i would make this deal in a heartbeat without knowing morneau's tendencies. he has a tendency to drop off after the allstar break. his career average after the break is 30 points lower than before the break. he has almost double the amount of HRs before the break than after the break in his career. this is the only thing that scares me about this trade.

I you think you want to deal Pujols, then push the envelope and ask for more.

Lincecum/Morneau and someone like a top RP or a speed/ave/run producer like the Pitts youngster.

Tough call. I think that the upgrade on pitching from Lincecum is greater than downgrade at 1B to Morneau. My reservations on the trade are that you are giving up, BY FAR, the best player in baseball. I would ask for more.
