I honestly thought this was going to be about the Palin administration when I opened this thread. That's great news though, knapp. My wife and I just got through a scare with her job, it was bad enough just having to deal with the fear of losing a job, I would hate to have to deal with actually being out of work.
my wife stays home now that we have the baby, and that's been a big adjustment...especially now with a temporary 20% pay cut for the summer. we're able to pay all our bills, but it's put a crimp in paying down some debt

Think about doing it for 2 1/2 years. It's been rough. We had reserves but we went through those a while ago. She's been picking up temp work when it was available, but with unemployment rates rising, it's been pretty scary lately. She's been unable to get anything since Feb 1 of this year, and the last month or so was really getting nerve-wracking.
We're certainly not wealthy with her new job, but we're going to be OK.
I've recently been in the same boat, my old lady luckily works 3 days a week at a Mexican place as a hostess, it's not much but the extra money covers grocery, water bill and small other things.

Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
