With Ethier not cracking your starting lineup, I don't see why not trade him for a pitcher. But not a sell-high kind of guy like Jackson.

I would say go for it unless you can find somebody with a better track record than Jackson. Even if you can't though your pitching is solid enough to be able to afford if Jackson regresses a little bit and you have enough good outfielders to afford losing Ethier
